Soulbound DKP System 1.6

How do you Earn DKP?

Any level  80 raid member will earn DKP when participating in an official guild organized raid.  For those runs to which the DKP system does not apply, the standard group looting rules should be employed.  All points will be added to a character’s DKP total after the raid has been completed.  Points earned during a raid will not be available for use until the next raid.

The standard point breakdown for a raid instance is shown below:

On Time

1 point

Kill a Boss

1 point per boss killed

Kill a Boss for the First Time

1 point added to std. 1 for killing boss

Stay with the Raid until the End

2 point

New Content Bonus

First Raid Bonus

10 points

On Time –

A.       In order to be eligible for the on time DKP, players must be in the instance or at the entrance to the instance prior to the scheduled start time

B.       All characters that are at the assembly point prior to the raid start time will earn on-time points.  If the raid fills and characters that were on-time, but were not able to get into the raid will earn the on-time points.

C.       Prior to the official raid start time, players will be invited to the raid group only if they are at the instance entrance.  After the official raid time has passed, players will be invited to the raid group no matter where they are in the world.  This will be done to simplify the on time point tracking.

End of Raid

A.       Each scheduled raid will have a duration or an objective attached to it.  If a player stays until the end of the scheduled duration or until the objective has been met, they will earn the “Stay with the Raid until the End” Points.

B.       The raid may decide to continue beyond the scheduled end time or raid objective, however DKP for staying until the end will be awarded once the scheduled end time occurs or the raid objective is achieved.

New Content Bonus

A.   Prior to the raid, the raid leader may set some goals for the new content night.  Although, a boss may not be defeated, if the raid was able to make significant progress and meet the objectives of the raid a bonus point may be awarded (at the raid leaders discretion).

First Raid Bonus

            A.  All characters will receive 10 DKP at the beginning of the first raid that they attend.  This will allow for the new raider to have DKP to spend during the raid.  These are the only points that a player may earn during a raid that will be added to their total available DKP immediately.  All other DKP earned during the raid will not be added to each player’s total until after the raid has been completed.

Odd People Out

At times, our raid groups will fill leaving some players out.  All players that are on time for the raid will earn the on time DKP, regardless of whether or not they will be able to gain a slot in the raid.

How Are Alts Handled?

DKP will be earned on a character-by-character basis.  If a player has more than one character that is eligible to earn DKP, those points will be earned for each individual character depending on how many raids the players uses that character.

Definition of “NEED”

The use of the verb “need” in this document is very specific.  Wherever the word is used this is the definition that is to be used.  A character “needs” an item, if it is an upgrade for the character which that character will equip and use to increase their contribution to the raid group in the role the character plays in raids.  Loot priority is set according to what will make the raid group stronger.  A player's ability to PVP or solo PVE is a secondary consideration.  Priority for all items that drop will go to players that need the item.  If none of the eligible players need the item, then players that could use the item for non-raid related purposes may be allowed a chance to win the item, if the item is an upgrade.  If the item is not an upgrade for a player, the item will be disenchanted.

How Do You Use DKP?

A bidding system will be used to determine who wins epic items that drop during our DKP raids.  The systems will work according to the rules listed below:

1.  All bidding will be done in raid chat.  The raid channel must remain clear of everything but bidding.

2.  The minimum starting bid for an item will be 5 DKP.

3.  The minimum increment to raise a bid is 5 DKP.

4.  A class prioritization system will be used to determine which players are eligible to bid on each item.  Refer to the Class Prioritization section of this document for the specific rules.

5.  All players of the eligible classes that “Need” the item are eligible to bid on it.

6.  The highest bidder wins the item.

7.  Upon winning an item, the amount that was bid for the item will be immediately deducted from the winner’s DKP total.

8.  All ties will be broken via a /random 100 roll.  The highest roller wins.  DKP (the amount bidded) will be deducted immediately from the winner’s total.

9.  A player can only bid using the points that the player currently has.  You may not bid more points than you have.

10.  If the only players that “Need” an item, have less than 5 DKP (the minimum starting bid amount), the player with the most DKP that “Needs” the item wins.  A total of 5 DKP will be deducted from the character’s total, which will result in the character having a negative DKP total.

Class Prioritization

The wow-loot website (http://www.wow-loot.com) will be used to determine the class prioritization of all non-class specific items.  Some customization to the prioritization list may occur.  Any customized changes to the class prioritization will be published on the Soulbound website.  Classes with a higher prioritization will be given bidding priority over classes of a lower priority level.

Loot for Which the Standard System does not Apply

1.    BOE Blue and Green Items:

(a)  These items are looted randomly.  They are not master looted.

2.    Disenchanting Materials:

(a)  Players that won epic items during the raid will be ineligible to roll for disenchanting materials.

(b)  A random roll will be performed by every eligible player in the raid.  The highest rollers win the materials.  Starting from the highest roller to the lowest roller, the disenchanting materials will be handed out until they run out.

3.    Other Items

(a)  As content is added to the game, some unique items may handled with special looting rules due to their rarity.  Some legendary items may fall into this category.  Specific rules for these items should be determined beforehand.

Patterns

(a)  The minimum starting bid for all patterns will be 0 DKP.

(b)  ALL BoE patterns won will be learned immediately upon receiving the pattern

(c)  Only raiders and backup raiders will be allowed to bid on patterns.  Non-Raiders will be allowed to bid only on BoP patterns during a raid, when none of the raiders or backup raiders want the recipe.  Non-Raiders will be allowed to bid on patterns that are auctioned as part of the guild bank recipe bidding process.  However, any eligible raider or backup raider will have priority over any non-raiders (see guild bank recipe bidding process priority matrix for details about eligibility).

(d)  Some patterns will be bid on immediately in the raid and others will be sent to the guild bank to be distributed using a guild bank recipe bidding process (outlined below).

(e)  The bidding priority for patterns will be as described below.  For each table, start at the top of the list and work down until the condition that is appropriate is reached.  Players that meet the conditions of a higher priority are allowed to bid (or roll for the item, if the maximum bid is 0 DKP) before players of a lower priority.

The following rules will be followed for the Guild Bank Recipe Bidding Process:

                  i.            Each recipe to be bid on will be posted on the guild website.

ii.            If no bids are made on a recipe within 7 days of its posting, bidding will be closed and the guild bank will sell the pattern on the auction house.

iii.            Bidding priority will follow the matrix listed below

iv.            If a player wants a recipe, but does not have the required skill for the profession, they may still bid on the pattern.  Refer to the priority matrix (see below) for details regarding how such items may be won.  Transfer of the recipe from the bank to the winner will not be done until the required skill level has been reached by the character.  Upon winning the bid, such a character will have 30 days to level the profession.  If he is not able to reach the required profession level within 30 days, the recipe will be returned to the guild bank and may be opened back up for bidding.  All DKP spent on such a transaction will not be refundable.

Epic BOE Gear

1. During the raid, BoE epics are bid on just like any other gear, except:

(a)    The winner must equip the item immediately.

(b)    If no one in the raid "needs" the item for their main raiding set, it is deposited in the guild bank. (No bids for off-sets. No bids on behalf of characters not in the raid.)

2. Items deposited in the guild bank are auctioned via the guild website. Auctions are open for bids for one week. Minimum bid is 0 DKP. Bids are accepted based on a priority system - a bid with higher priority wins regardless of the amount of DKP bid. The priorities are, in order:

(a)    Raiders (Tier 1-3) for raiding set

(b)    Raiders (Tier 1-3) for off-set

(c)    Other guild members (including alts) for raiding set

(d)    Other guild members (including alts) for off-set

(e)    As an example, Babal bids 10 DKP for Sweet Plate Bracers for his raiding set. Sina bids 0 DKP for the same item for his off set. Sina wins since his bid is higher priority (main toon, off-set) than Babal's (alt, raiding set) - even though Babal bid more DKP.

3. The player making the bid must have the DKP to cover the bid. (One character cannot use its DKP to bid on behalf of another - even an alt.)

4. The guild bank representative will deliver the item in-game and watch the winner equip it. Please do not bid on an item you are unable or unwilling to equip immediately.

Unaccounted For Situations

It is an impossible task to account for every possible looting situation that may occur in the guild.  If a situation arises that is not clearly handled in this document or if there is legitimate debate regarding how to interpret something that is written in this document, the issue will be resolved by the GM Division members that are present in the raid.  These officers will use their best judgment to fairly resolve the issue.

Future Revisions

Revisions to the System Will Be Necessary.  Although we tried to predict what would work the best, revisions to the system due to unforeseeable issues may be needed.

DKP Total Tracking

Points will be tracked an posted on the guild’s website.  Updates to these totals will be made for the following reasons:

  1. After each raid, the DKP earned will be added to the DKP totals for each character.
  2. Error Corrections:  It is the responsibility of each player to review their DKP totals and inform a member of the GM division of any issues.  If there are any errors, they will be corrected as soon as possible.

Miscellaneous Rules

1.        DKP are given on a character-by-character.  Each player will have a separate DKP total for each of their eligible characters.

2.        DKP cannot be traded or given to another player

3.        DKP is also not transferable from one character to another, even if the character is an alt.  In some specific instances, there may be some exceptions to this rule.

4.        If a player changes their talent spec which changes their raiding role (i.e. healer, tank, melee DPS, ranged DPS) without being asked to do so, they will forfeit all of their DKP.

5.            Any BOE epic won will be equipped immediately for display. Points will be removed equal to the cost of the epic immediately

6.            DKP earned for participating in DKP-governed raids will be added to each player’s total after the raid and before the start of the next raid.

7.        Anyone that quits or is removed from the guild forfeits all of their DKP.
